Tlees pihal, uuvottel ymprilles – Open yards
Old Rauma Association is again arranging the annual open yards/flee market event during the Lace Week 22.–30.7. Citizens and tourists have a chance to get to know the houses of Old Rauma, and learn about their history, from those who live there, or from those who otherwise might have knowledge of the houses. The yards are open for visitors when there is an Old Rauma Association sign at the gate. Open hours are up to the participant houses own consideration. You can see all the participant yards and houses from a map that the association publishes. You can print the map from pitsiviikko.fi from 22.7 on, or get one from the shops and exhibition places around Old Rauma. At 9 Agipitsi 2017 –dog agility event
At the outdoor area for dogs at Susivuori, Pulttivahe 2. The main features of this event include agility, and the dog instructors dressed in lace -competition. Best lace outfits will be rewarded. Over 1000 agility performances are expected to participate in the event, from all around Finland. The competitions start on Friday 21.7 at 16.00 and continue through Saturday and Sunday. The event is organized by Rauman Käyttö- ja Seurakoirat ry.
At 10 Opening ceremony of the Lace Week
At Helsinki Square. The beginning of the Lace Week is formally celebrated by decorating the Lace Maker Statue. Pyyrman will play his drums, Seitsikko and Mirku Flika from the marching band of Rauma will perform, and the opening speech will be held by Kalle Leppikorpi. A speech from the foreman of Nyplääjät ry Aila Rismala will also be heard.
10-13 Association market
At the Market Place. Associations such as Inspira ry, TULES ry from Rauma region, the Rheumatism Association of Rauma and the Finnish Conservation Association of Nature from Rauma will be at the market place, introducing themselves and the work they do.
10–15 Sale of handmade home textiles
At the house of the courtyard of Art Museum, Kuninkaankatu 37. Home textiles made by Marja Arasto and Pirjo Siivonen, using only natural materials and constructing them with handloom and stitching, are sold at the courtyard of Art museum. 10–15 Martta Cafe
At the city’s staff restaurant Kerttu Pruutmestarska, Kanalinranta 3 (the inner courtyard of the City Hall). Coffee and goodies such as doughnuts, Danish pastries, cakes, and loafs of bread are sold every day, you can also pick up some to take home. Organized by Rauman Lännen Martat ry. 10–18 XVIII Lace tournament YD, aka petanque competition at Uotila
At the petanque field at Uotila, Sippolankuja 1. Competitors take part all over Finland. The competition form is YD, which means that each team playing has two members. No age- or gender limits. At 11, 12 and 13 Guided walking tours of Old Rauma
The tour starts from the Old Town Hall, Kauppakatu 13. Duration of the tour c. 50 min. Payment 5€ is payed to the guide, in cash. The tours are in Finnish.

At 12.00 Opening ceremony of the exhibition by the Lace centre Emelian
At the city’s staff restaurant Kerttu Pruutmestarska, Kanalinranta 3 (the inner courtyard of the City Hall). The Lace Maker of the year 2017 is revealed. A book about old lace’s from mayor Grönholm’s collections is published at the event, written by Helena Honka-Hallila. The author will be at the event answering questions and signing books. An exhibition by last year’s Lace Maker of the year Aila Salo will also be showcased at the event.
At 14 A singing event by the Toivon kerho

At 14 Esine = Tarina – Maritime objects
Maritime museum of Rauma, Kalliokatu 34. Museums are filled with objects and material. In the best scenario, every object has a story to tell. With this guidance you can hear and interpret stories of selected objects from the museum. The guidance is playful but it also challenges you to participate. No reservations, sign up when buying the ticket at the register at the day of the guidance. The prize of the guidance is the entry ticket to the museum. Recommended age: adults. Max. 30 participants. The guidance is in Finnish.
At 15 and 17 Linnalan korsteeni
Basement theater, Pursikatu 4. The study theater of Rauma performs a play, written by Hj. Nortamo and adapted by Antero Linnala, called Linnalan korsteeni. The play is directed by Jarmo Koski.
