9:00 Lace agility 2019 competition

Susivuori field, Pulttivahe 2. Dog agility event, where the handlers are wearing lace. The best lace outfits are awarded. There are over a thousand agility performances and participants from all over Finland. The competition starts on Friday 19/07 at 16:00 and continues on Saturday and Sunday.

10:00–11:00 Park yoga

In Katariinanpuisto park, by the ruins of the Church of the Holy Trinity. Low-intensity hatha yoga, suitable for everyone. Please bring your own yoga mat. Please note that this event is weather dependent. Payment is optional.

10:00–12:00 Thella’s cafe

Staff cafeteria Kerttu Pruutmestarska, Kanalinranta 3, town hall courtyard. Lace making, socialising, and exploring Pitsikeskus Emelia lace makers association’s exhibition. A few extra lace pillows will be available at the site. Come and try out a lace pattern suitable for beginners! Emelia offers a free cup of coffee for all lace makers.

10:00–15:45 Tulle lace making course

Poselli, Nortamonkatu 12. Two-day course (Sun–Mon). The course examines the specific characteristics of lace made in Rauma in the early 1800s. The course includes traditional lace making using tulle lace from a lace sample collection collected by Mayor Grönholm in the 1800s. The participants can practice making edgings, tulle bases and patterns and using a gimp thread in different ways. The course is intended for people who already have basic knowledge of lace making. The course fee (24 €) will be paid in cash upon arrival. The course is taught by Pirjo Vänni, Lace maker of the year 2018. 11:00–13:00 Artist introduction: Katariina Mannio

Rauma Maritime Museum, Kalliokatu 34. The Rauma-based artist Katariina Mannio showcases her exhibition Black King–Piper nigrum. Mannio’s woodcuts and photographs from the Silk Road and the Indian Ocean trade routes are on display in the Rauma Maritime Museum’s tower. The tower exhibition is free of charge during artist introduction, although normal entrance fees apply to other exhibitions at the Maritime Museum. The Maritime Museum is open daily from 11:00am to 5:00pm. Tickets: adults 9 €, seniors 7 €, students 6 €, children 3 €. Free admission with the Museum Card. For more information, please visit

11.30 Old Rauma guided walking tour

Finnish/English walking tour starts from Old Town Hall, Kauppakatu 13. Duration 1,5 h, price 6€/person (in cash).

12:00–16:00 Sunday flea market

Old Rauma Market square. Open to everyone. 5€/market table, 3€/an extra table.

18:00 Musical evening worship

The Kordelin Chapel, Kaunisjärvenkatu 4. Anyone can join the Lutheran worship at the beautiful Kordelin Chapel. The service is in Finnish but the historical chapel, which isn’t normally open to public, is worth visiting.
