10:00–16:00 Workshop for children

Mantin Maailma, Kuninkaankatu 30. Felting, textile printing, and other easy and fun crafts. No age limit, fee 5€ and up.

Tuesday 23rd

11:00–16:00 Workshop for children: Printing with stencil

Taitokeskus Rauma, Lensunkatu 4. Printing a bag or a dishcloth with a stencil. Material fee: a bag 8€, a dishcloth 4€. Under 8-year-olds always with an adult. Groups should sign up in advance. Enquiries and sign-ups rauma@taitosatakunta.fi

12:00–18:00 Instructed crafts

Marttapirtti, Luostarinkatu 4. Instructed handicrafts at the local Marthas Organization house. Children with adults. Cafeteria and Marthas’ exhibition.

Wednesday 24th

11:00–15:00 Iirolandia

Äijänsuo Indoor Arena, Teollisuuskatu 19. A fun sports event for the whole family. Intended for 1–12-year-old children and their parents. Iirolandia consists of many activity points, such as a bouncing mat, a balance course, skipping ropes, etc. A large area is reserved for ball games. Entrance fee 5 €/child. 11:00–16:00 Craft workshop: Make a storage basket from recycled felt

Taitokeskus Rauma, Lensunkatu 4. The workshop includes making an easy storage basket from recycled felt for storing jewellery or toys. Material fee 5 € per basket. 13:00 Hobby horse cavalcade and a show jumping contest

Tammela courtyard, Eteläpitkäkatu 17. Gathering at Tammela courtyard, from where the cavalcade leaves at 13.00 towards Tekkala Park. The cavalcade welcomes friends of hobby horses of all ages, with or without a hobby horse! A show jumping contest is organised in the park at 13.30. The categories are 1. category 20 cm (3–5-year-olds), 2. category 30 cm (6–8-year-olds), 3. class 50 cm (9–13-year-olds), 4. category 60 cm (open for everybody). Take your own horse with you or borrow a hobby horse at the event. Fee 2€. Enquiries tel. +358 40 501 3116.

Thursday 25th

11:00–16:00 Craft workshop: Glass mosaic

Taitokeskus Rauma, Lensunkatu 4. The workshop includes decorating a glass jar to make a beautiful lantern with glass mosaic. Material fee: from 5 € per lantern. Friday 26th

11:00–16:00 Craft workshop: Sauna elf

Taitokeskus Rauma, Lensunkatu 4. The workshop includes crafting a fun decoration from jute and tar yarn. Material fee: 6 € per elf. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult. 14:00–16:00 Circus workshop

Poselli, Nortamonkatu 12. A non-stop workshop, where children get to test their balance with various equipment, including balance boards and traditional stilts. In addition, children get to try juggling with different equipment and pair acrobatics with an adult or friend.

Saturday 27th

10:00–14:00 Children’s Saturday  

Old Rauma Market square. Children’s Saturday at the Market square. A mascot is handing out balloons and children can spin the wheel of fortune. Live music for children.

10:00–14:00 Orienteering for children

Katariinanpuisto Park (the intersection of Itäkatu and Vanhankirkonkatu). Please note that this event is weather dependent. Children and adults visit various checkpoints together in natural surroundings. Each child receives a checkpoint card and gets to craft a small memento at every checkpoint. The activity at each checkpoint takes approximately 20 minutes. Participants can join the adventure at any time throughout the event. Entrance fee 2 € (incl. one adult + one child, extra persons 1 €). Children of all ages are welcome, but the event is primarily designed for children aged 3–8. No pre-registration required.

10:00–15:00 Lace Adventure

Starting point Old Rauma Market Square. In the Lace Adventure, children get to look for parts of a code from different locations all around Rauma. The winning team that cracks the code will receive a delicious prize. Instructions will be provided at the Market Square. Some locations are also located outside of the town centre area.

11:00–15:00 Children’s art event

Nokka Art Croft, Suvitie 10. Children get to paint and draw, and try stone painting and felting. Café and art exhibition open.

14:15–15:00 Storytelling yoga, theme forest animals

Katariinanpuisto Park (the intersection of Itäkatu and Vanhankirkonkatu). A yoga session for children, where children get to learn about the forest and forest animals. The session will start and end with a relaxation exercise. The yoga story session is approximately 30 minutes long, and will be followed by a few discussion and yoga exercises suitable for children. Yoga poses help maintain children’s mobility and improve their motor coordination and balance. In addition, yoga teaches children to concentrate and relax. The yoga is taught through storytelling and it is not about performance or competition. All children can do the playful poses in their own way. Session fee: 6 €. Age limit: 4–10 years. Sunday 28th

12:00–14:00 Tractor riding

Starting point at Old Rauma Market Square, non-stop rides on a tractor trailer. You can also admire big working machines at the market square.
