Tlees pihal, uuvottel ymprilles – Open yards
Open yards/flee market event organized by the Old Rauma Association. Citizens and tourists have a chance to get to know some of the inner courtyards of Old Rauma. For more information see Saturday 22.7.

Kalatori. Come and discover the possibilities and innovations of modern forest- and bio economy, at the science center exhibition of UPM-Kymmene Oyj and BioAika –truck. BioAika-event tour is made for the 100-year old Finland. Lots to see and experience for the whole family.

10–16 Weaving workshop of the Lace Week
At Taitokeskus Rauma, Lensunkatu 4. Come weave with handle frames (c. 1 hour/a piece of work) Quick and easy models to follow. You can take the finished work with you. 10–17 Sale of handmade home textiles
At the house of the courtyard of Art Museum, Kuninkaankatu 37. Home textiles made by Marja Arasto and Pirjo Siivonen, using only natural materials and constructing them with handloom and stitching, are sold at the courtyard of Art museum. 10–18 Martta Cafe
At the city’s staff restaurant Kerttu Pruutmestarska, Kanalinranta 3 (the inner courtyard of the City Hall). Coffee and goodies such as doughnuts, Danish pastries, cakes, and loafs of bread are sold every day, you can also pick up some to take home. Organized by Rauman Lännen Martat ry. 11–14 Traditional food
The courtyard of the Art museum of Rauma, Kuninkaankatu 37. The Martta association of Rauma sells different traditional foods of Rauma. Lapskoussi, Finnish pancakes, topselvellinki and malt rolls are sold. Depending on how much food is sold – you can also take some home.

At 11, 12 and 13 Guided walking tours of Old Rauma
The tour starts from the Old Town Hall, Kauppakatu 13. Duration of the tour c. 50 min. Payment 5€ is payed to the guide, in cash. The tours are in Finnish.

11–16 Lace from macramé

11–17 Happenings in Tammela – Old school work, play and games
Tammela, Eteläpitkäkatu 17. The youth workshop arranges programs for both adults and children. A café can be found at the scene, with many different product from the workshop sold. Guided handicraft chores for children to do, for example masks for the night of Black Lace and Pokémons. You can also get to know the media department and see a video from Sammallahdenmäki, or experience some work demonstrations and enjoy music performances.

Products from sheep farm Ali-Unkki will also be at the event, along with a wool cutting demonstartion with a real sheep. Also a work demonstration from carpenter Ahti Montonen.

At 13 Bingo

At 14 Medieval churches of Rauma
Start from the Ruins of the Church of the Holy Trinity at the Kalatori. A walking tour continues to the Church of the Holy Cross. Duration of the tour 1,5 hours, the fee of 6€ is payed to the guide in cash. The tour is in Finnish. 

At 16.30 Talot tarinoivat –tour
Start from the Old Town Hall, Kauppakatu 13. A walking tour through the houses of Old Rauma with stories from the residents. Duration 1,5 hours, the fee of 6€ is payed to the guide in cash. The tour is in Finnish.

At 16.30 National dress outing picnic
The journey starts from the courtyard of the City, Kanalinranta 3, from where we’ll walk as a cavalcade to the market place. There we’ll take a stop and listen to the Rauma Purpuri, after which we continue through Old Rauma all the way to the Art museum of Rauma, where we’ll have a picnic and presenting of the dresses (Kuninkaankatu 37). Wear a national dress or put on pieces of a dress, grab a basket and come along! Organized by the Kalevala women of Rauma.

At 17 Rauma Purpuri
Market place of Rauma. Purpuri is a dance performance with many different turns and it follows the ancient Finnish traditions of dance. The purpuri performed is a 10-part one, found from the legacy of a master spelman Viljo Jalonen, who was from Rauma. The purpuri will be performed by traditional dance organization Fikuleeri and the marching band of Rauma, with the lead of Anne Lehtomäki. (Adaptation by Timo Katila, fixed up by Jutta Wrangén)

At 18 Taiji Bai’Ou at the park
The park of Kaunisjärvi/the park of the hospital of Rauma. An ancient wisdom from thousands of years ago for today’s people to use, Taiji is an energy practice, which advances health. You’re welcome to come and experience the softness and strength of Taiji. No previous experience needed. Take with you comfortable clothing, your own mat and a water bottle. The class is led by Anne Lamminpää. Free entry.
